Fitbit has launched a Minions special edition version of its Fitbit Ace 3 kids fitness tracker.
The Fitbit Ace 3 Special Edition comes Minions themed, in bright yellow that looks really bright and fun.
It also comes with Minions inspired watch faces and badges to earn, which are exclusive to those using the Special Edition band. The watch faces provide Minion-based encouragement to get active as they dance, skateboard and run across the display.
The badges feature some of the favorite Minions (Kevin, Bob and Stuart apparently) and there’s some themed bands on the way, too.
“Parents and kids love our Ace activity and sleep trackers for their engaging and motivating features that inspire kids to stay active and build healthy habits,” said Alison Ross Powers, Head of Global Strategic Partnerships for Fitbit at Google.
“Introducing Illumination’s Minions to the Ace family brings fun, new Minions inspired features that weave in even more personality and surprises into the Fitbit experience for families and kids, keeping them moving and happy alongside their favourite on-screen characters.”
For the uninitiated, the Fitbit Ace series is a fitness tracker aimed at children aged 6+. It’s designed to focus on getting them up and moving, and able to earn badges and rewards.
Elsewhere, the hardware is the same as the standard Ace 3, with a monochrome screen and water resistant design. It’s swimproof and features 8 days of battery life, so there won’t be too much hassle about charging
Garmin has also targeted children with its Vivofit Jnr range, which has also had Marvel editions. That band aims to go a little further than just activity, with virtual currency earned for completing chores, which parents can then let them “cash in” in whatever way they choose
