Fossil has officially unveiled the Kate Spade Sport Smartwatch, which brings its Gen 5 features to another one of its many watch brands.
Following the Kate Spade Scallop 2, the Sport Smartwatch as the name suggests, is all about making this edition a better fit for workouts.

Running on Google's Wear OS, the new smartwatch offers a more gym-friendly design with silicone straps to help fend off that sweat.
It's available in three different colorways - one with a pink strap and bronzed finish, another with a nice deep green strap and that same finish, while there's an all-black option with light purple accents, too.
Regardless of colors, the Sport Smartwatch has a finish that fits in with previous scalloped designs. This time, the actual rim of the watch is ridged and bobbled in Kate Spade's signature style. It's got two buttons to one side of the watch face, one of which is dedicated to launching a face-swapping app for on the fly style switches.
The Sport Smartwatch has Qualcomm's Snapdragon 3100 chip powering performance, much like every other Fossil Gen 5 outing. It doesn't however have that improved 1GB of RAM, sticking to the 512MB of RAM offered older Wear watches.
On the features front, there's 4GB of onboard storage and NFC for Google Pay. For sports tracking, you're getting built-in GPS, a heart rate monitor, an altimeter to measure elevation and a waterproof design making it safe to swim with up to 30 metres depth.
An on-board microphone also means that you can talk to Google Assistant on your wrist, although there's no speaker for audible responses. It also ships with Spotify, Strava and Cardiogram apps pre-installed, to encourage users to make the most of its features.
Looking through the specs sheet, it's a bit of a mash-up of Gen 5 and Gen 4 features, which seems to be a trend for Wear smartwatches being launched by the Fossil Group at the moment.
The major fashion brand is clearly making a bigger push with these sporty options too having already unveiled the Michael Kors MKGO back in September as another option with a more durable look.
The Kate Spade Sport Smartwatch is available now from the Kate Spade website, and costs $275, which is actually slightly cheaper than what the Scallop 2 cost at launch.
The first two generation Kate Spade smartwatches were among our favorite fashion smartwatch options, so it'll be interesting to see whether the Sport can live up to its predecessors.
