An official update to the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro appears to be rolling out - one that promises performance improvements to those using the latest Samsung smartwatches.
Despite the two models only being released in August, the company is already onto its second upgrade of the software - marked as version R9x5USQU1AVH6 - running over the top of Wear OS 3.5.
The patch notes were uncovered after being detailed on Verizon's support page for the Galaxy Watch 5.
And despite this seemingly being a solid update that should add some stability improvements and bug fixes for Watch 5 owners, it's not necessarily the one users would have been hoping for, with the temperature sensor present on both devices still not being activated.
Expect that to debut in the near future, and, until then, let's walk through exactly how to download this latest update from Samsung - if it hasn't prompted you already, of course.
From what we can see, it's only LTE-enabled models that are receiving the update at present, but you can check by following these steps:
1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected smartphone.
2. Head over to 'Watch Settings'.
3. Tap 'Watch Software Update' and wait for it to check for an update.
4. If there's an update ready, tap 'Download and Install'.
Interestingly, despite testing both new smartwatches for the last month or so on our wrists, we've noticed very few - if any - glitches or areas in need of performance improvements, so we'll be interested to see if there's any noticeable change in the experience following this download.
