TomTom has announced it's giving its Golfer 2 watch an upgrade, while also introducing a more affordable version in the form of the Golfer 2 SE.
The original TomTom Golfer was a Wareable favourite, but the second iteration less so, and since that time Garmin has swooped in and snatched the golfing trophy with the Garmin Approach X40. The refreshed version of the Golfer 2 adds 24/7 activity tracking to the wearable, meaning you can keep wearing it while off the course to capture your steps, active minutes and calories burned.

It still has all the other features found in last year's model, though we hope the automatic shot detection, our biggest niggle with the device, may have been improved too. We found that to be lacking the requisite accuracy, and the beeping and vibrating to be really distracting on the course. Not a great experience. TomTom's also rolling out 24/7 activity tracking to existing Golfer 2 watches in an update.
Alongside the refresh, TomTom is also launching the Golfer 2 SE, which packs in features such as hazard and green distances on over 40,000 courses, post-game analysis and auto shot detection. However it does so in a cheaper package, which might convince you to get one wrapped around your wrist.
Our major problem with the original Golfer 2 was the premium price for the automatic shot detection feature, that after a couple of rounds, we were desperate to turn off. But the cheaper price of the Golfer 2 SE kind of negates this issue to some degree – and we're hoping the overall experience has been addressed.
The new TomTom Golfer 2 is available for , while the TomTom Golfer 2 SE is retailing at . Both are available in the UK and US right now, for those looking to improve their game.
