Xiaomi has started teasing an all-new Watch S2 smartwatch, ahead of a December launch.
The company canceled its launch event on 1 Dec, but has teased enough details of its forthcoming smartwatch that we have a pretty good idea of what’s coming.
The Xiaomi Watch S2 retains the circular design of the Watch S1 that was launched a year ago, however, the lugs and case bezels have been reduced, for a device that looks to be more refined and feminine.

There will be dual 42mm and 46mm case sizes, so it should be fairly unisex. There’s no digital crown, but there are two buttons on the right-hand side of the case.
The teaser pictures released by Xiaomi also show a rich selection of color-coded leather strap options.
And there are also some new health sensors on board. The Xiaomi Watch S2 will feature a body composition sensor, like we’ve seen on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, and a long way back, TomTom devices.
That’s all the official details, but we’re sure the S2 will retain the built-in GPS and 100+ workout profiles found on the original. The S1 also boasted a week of battery life, which Xiaomi will be keen to build on.
Whole Xiaomi dominated the fitness tracker space with the Mi Band, which launched its 7th generation in 2022, it hasn’t enjoyed the same success with smartwatches.
Xiaomi was late to the game, and even later in getting its devices outside of China.
The company has also positioned itself increasingly in the middle of the market. Its sub-brand Redmi has picked up the mantle as the budget offering. The Redmi Watch Lite impressed in our reviews – and Xiaomi’s smartwatches have typically been priced around $200.
It’s an increasingly crowded space and hard to cut through. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the launch of the Watch S2 to see how aggressive Xiaomi will be this time around.
