Huawei has launched the Huawei Watch 3 Pro New smartwatch, an interim update to its Watch 3 Pro.
The smartwatch was unveiled at a launch event for the new Harmony OS 3.0 in China – but it's only confirmed for launch in Huawei’s homeland for now.
All of the recent focus from Huawei has seemed to be the Watch GT 3 series, which has also received a Watch GT 3 Pro version.
But the Watch 3 Pro New seems to have reclaimed its place at the top of the pecking order.
The major new additions are ECG functionality, which you might remember was launched on the GT 3 Pro watch earlier this year.
Huawei has ECG signed off in a host of countries, although we’re still waiting for approval in Europe and the UK. Don’t forget that Huawei never officially launches in the US, so no chance of it landing there.
The company has also launched turn-by-turn navigation, via Baidu Maps and AutoNavi Maps on the HarmonyOS 3 platform.
Golf has been a focus of Huawei as well, with a driving range mode found on its recent Pro smartwatches. But now there’s full course mapping, key distance data, wind direction information, and shot tracking and analysis.
And it has also put more focus on the digital crown, which has tactile vibration feedback, and has also been redesigned for the ECG feature.
Elsewhere, things are pretty familiar to the previous generation. Like the Watch 3 Pro, the new version boasts an over-sized 48mm case, that comes in Fashion and Premium versions. Both feature a 1.43-inch AMOLED touchscreen, with a top notch 466 x 466 pixels resolution and a 22mm strap.
There’s no details of overseas availability, but there’s a CNY 2,999 price tag, which works out at a punchy $443.
